Heidi Hill

Heidi Hill was born and raised in the small town of Huntington, Utah.  Her mother, a long-time music lover, started to teach her piano at the age of 5.  Ms. Hill has been actively involved with music ever since.

Ms. Hill discovered a love of teaching during high school, and chose to pursue a degree in music education.  She attended Snow College, where she studied privately with Elaine Jorgensen.  She obtained her Bachelor's degree at the University of Utah, studying flute with Lisa Byrnes.

Ms. Hill taught in a small public jr. high school located in eastern Utah for four years.  She directed 3 band ad 3 choir classes, and loved every second of it.  She then decided to further her education, earning a Master's Degree of Music Technology from Southern Utah University in August 2017.  She is currently practicing for auditions into doctoral programs.

As part of her training, Ms. Hill has also enjoyed attending many clinics from renowned flute players, including Brad Garner (University of Cincinnati), Linda Chesis (Manhattan School of Music), Carol Wincenc (Juilliard), and Keith Underwood (Yale).

Ms. Hill performs as a solo artist, and has enjoyed performing in many chamber and large ensembles.  She has served as section leader and principal flute for numerous groups.  A few of her many achievements include touring the Netherlands as a performer and winning a concerto competition.

In addition to flute, Ms. Hill enjoys playing a number of different instruments, especially woodwinds.  She owns many standard band instruments, and practices them in her spare time.  She also likes to sing and compose.
